Got a bright living room? Honestly, this TCL Q7 really punches above its weight for the price. It’s a full-array QLED, so it gets plenty bright and has great color. And the 120 Hz panel is a game-changer, believe me—it makes sports and gaming look incredibly smooth. Plus, the Google TV interface is snappy. You get all the modern gaming goodies, too—two HDMI 2.1 ports for 4K/120Hz gameplay, VRR, and ALLM. There’s even an eARC port to easily hook up a soundbar. And here's the thing—it often costs less than similar models from Samsung or Sony, while matching or even beating their gaming specs. So if you spot a good deal, I'd say grab the Q7 for daytime sports and fast-paced gaming. If you’re all about movie nights in the dark and want those perfect blacks, then yeah, step up to a mini-LED. Just remember, specs like brightness can change depending on the screen size.

A few things to keep in mind. First, this isn't a mini-LED TV, so you are going to see some light bloom around bright objects on dark backgrounds, especially from an angle. It also has only two of those high-speed HDMI 2.1 ports. That’s fine for most of us, but if you have multiple next-gen consoles, you'll want to plan ahead. The built-in speakers are... okay. You’ll really want to hook up a soundbar. And like a lot of TVs with this type of screen panel, the picture looks best when you're sitting straight on.
